Chapter 22

1 And the inhabitants3427 of Jerusalem3389 made853 Ahaziah274 his youngest6996 son1121 king4427 in his stead:8478 for3588 the band of men1416 that came935 with the Arabians6163 to the camp4264 had slain2026 all3605 the eldest.7223 So Ahaziah274 the son1121 of Jehoram3088 king4428 of Judah3063 reigned.4427

2 Forty705 and two8147 years8141 old1121 was Ahaziah274 when he began to reign,4427 and he reigned4427 one259 year8141 in Jerusalem.3389 His mother's517 name8034 also was Athaliah6271 the daughter1323 of Omri.6018

3 He1931 also1571 walked1980 in the ways1870 of the house1004 of Ahab:256 for3588 his mother517 was1961 his counselor3289 to do wickedly.7561

4 Wherefore he did6213 evil7451 in the sight5869 of the LORD3068 like the house1004 of Ahab:256 for3588 they1992 were1961 his counselors3289 after310 the death4194 of his father1 to his destruction.4889

5 He walked1980 also1571 after their counsel,6098 and went1980 with854 Jehoram3088 the son1121 of Ahab256 king4428 of Israel3478 to war4421 against5921 Hazael2371 king4428 of Syria758 at Ramoth-gilead:7433 and the Syrians761 smote5221 853 Joram.3141

6 And he returned7725 to be healed7495 in Jezreel3157 because of3588 the wounds4347 which834 were given5221 him at Ramah,7414 when he fought3898 853 with Hazael2371 king4428 of Syria.758 And Azariah5838 the son1121 of Jehoram3088 king4428 of Judah3063 went down3381 to see7200 853 Jehoram3088 the son1121 of Ahab256 at Jezreel,3157 because3588 he1931 was sick.2470

7 And the destruction8395 of Ahaziah274 was1961 of God4480 430 by coming935 to413 Joram:3141 for when he was come,935 he went out3318 with5973 Jehoram3088 against413 Jehu3058 the son1121 of Nimshi,5250 whom834 the LORD3068 had anointed4886 to cut off3772 853 the house1004 of Ahab.256

8 And it came to pass,1961 that, when Jehu3058 was executing judgment8199 upon5973 the house1004 of Ahab,256 and found4672 853 the princes8269 of Judah,3063 and the sons1121 of the brethren251 of Ahaziah,274 that ministered8334 to Ahaziah,274 he slew2026 them.

9 And he sought1245 853 Ahaziah:274 and they caught3920 him, (for he1931 was hid2244 in Samaria,)8111 and brought935 him to413 Jehu:3058 and when they had slain4191 him, they buried6912 him: Because,3588 said559 they, he1931 is the son1121 of Jehoshaphat,3092 who834 sought1875 853 the LORD3068 with all3605 his heart.3824 So the house1004 of Ahaziah274 had no369 power3581 to keep still6113 the kingdom.4467

10 But when Athaliah6271 the mother517 of Ahaziah274 saw7200 that3588 her son1121 was dead,4191 she arose6965 and destroyed1696 853 all3605 the seed2233 royal4467 of the house1004 of Judah.3063

11 But Jehoshabeath,3090 the daughter1323 of the king,4428 took3947 853 Joash3101 the son1121 of Ahaziah,274 and stole1589 him from among4480 8432 the king's4428 sons1121 that were slain,4191 and put5414 him and his nurse3243 in a bedchamber.2315 4296 So Jehoshabeath,3090 the daughter1323 of king4428 Jehoram,3088 the wife802 of Jehoiada3077 the priest,3548 (for3588 she1931 was1961 the sister269 of Ahaziah,)274 hid5641 him from4480 6440 Athaliah,6271 so that she slew4191 him not.3808

12 And he was1961 with854 them hid2244 in the house1004 of God430 six8337 years:8141 and Athaliah6271 reigned4427 over5921 the land.776

1 А мешканці Єрусалиму настанови́ли царем замість нього Ахазію, його найменшого сина, бо всіх перших позабива́ла та вата́га, що прихо́дила з арабами на та́бір. І зацарював Ахазія, син Єгорама, Юдиного царя.

2 Ахазія був віку сорока й двох літ, коли зацарював, і царював він в Єрусалимі один рік. А ім'я́ його матері — Аталія, дочка Омрієва.

3 Також він ходив дорогою Аха́вого дому, бо його мати була йому дора́дниця, щоб чинити беззако́ння.

4 І чинив він зло в Господніх оча́х, як Аха́вів дім, бо вони були йому дорадниками по смерті його батька, на поги́біль йому.

5 Також за їхньою порадою він ходив. І пішов він з Єгорамом, сином Ахава, Ізраїлевого царя, на війну на Хазаїла, сирійського царя, в ґілеадський Рамот. І побили сирі́яни Йорама.

6 І вернувся він лікува́тися в Їзреелі від тих ран, що завдали́ йому в Рамі, як він воював із Хазаїлом, сирійським царем. А Азарія, Єгорамів син, цар Юдин, зійшов побачити Єгорама, Ахавого сина, в Їзреелі, бо він був слаби́й.

7 І від Бога було на погибіль Ахазії, щоб прийти до Єгорама, бо як прийшов, вийшов з Єгорамом на Єгу, сина Німші, що Господь пома́зав його ви́губити Ахавів дім.

8 І сталося, коли Єгу чинив суд над Ахавовим домом, то знайшов він Юдиних зверхників та синів Ахазієвих братів, що служили Ахазієві, і позабивав їх.

9 І відшукав він Ахазію, і схопи́ли його́, а він ховався в Самарії. І привели́ його до Єгу та й забили його; і поховали його, бо сказали: „Він син Йосафата, що всім серцем своїм звертався до Господа“. І не було в домі Ахазії нікого, хто мав би силу царювати.

10 А коли Аталія, мати Ахазії, побачила, що помер її син, то встала й ви́губила все цареве насіння Юдиного дому...

11 А Єгосав'ат, дочка царя, взяла Йоаша, сина Ахазії, та й викрала його з-поміж вби́ваних царськи́х синів, і дала́ його та няньку його до спальної кімна́ти. І схова́ла його Єгосав'ат, дочка царя Єгорама, жінка священика Єгояди, — бо вона була сестра Ахазії, — перед Аталією, і та не забила його.

12 І він був з ними в Божому домі, хова́ючися шість років, а Аталія царювала над краєм.

2 Ахазія був віку сорока й двох літ, коли зацарював, і царював він в Єрусалимі один рік. А ім'я́ його матері — Аталія, дочка Омрієва.

9 І відшукав він Ахазію, і схопи́ли його́, а він ховався в Самарії. І привели́ його до Єгу та й забили його; і поховали його, бо сказали: „Він син Йосафата, що всім серцем своїм звертався до Господа“. І не було в домі Ахазії нікого, хто мав би силу царювати.

10 But when Athaliah6271 the mother517 of Ahaziah274 saw7200 that3588 her son1121 was dead,4191 she arose6965 and destroyed1696 853 all3605 the seed2233 royal4467 of the house1004 of Judah.3063

10 А коли Аталія, мати Ахазії, побачила, що помер її син, то встала й ви́губила все цареве насіння Юдиного дому...

11 А Єгосав'ат, дочка царя, взяла Йоаша, сина Ахазії, та й викрала його з-поміж вби́ваних царськи́х синів, і дала́ його та няньку його до спальної кімна́ти. І схова́ла його Єгосав'ат, дочка царя Єгорама, жінка священика Єгояди, — бо вона була сестра Ахазії, — перед Аталією, і та не забила його.

12 And he was1961 with854 them hid2244 in the house1004 of God430 six8337 years:8141 and Athaliah6271 reigned4427 over5921 the land.776
